Access to Information

The Highland Council collects and maintains information and data to enable it to carry out its statutory duties.  In some cases this information is a matter of public record and readily available through the Council's publication scheme.  In other cases, e.g. care records or a customer's financial details, the information must be held securely and disclosed only to the appropriate parties.

Access to information is governed by a number of pieces of legislation.  Council staff will help you to obtain the information you need unless disclosure would be against the law.

To request information you can email or send your request in writing to the Freedom of Information Officer, Chief Executive's Office, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness, IV3 5NX.
