Highland Tourism Partnership

The Highland Council is a major partner in the Highland Tourism Partnership (HTP). This partnership brings together representatives of the Tourism Industry as well as all the main agencies involved in tourism in the Highland and Moray areas. Membership of the Area Tourism Partnership comprises:

  • The Highland Council
  • Moray Council
  • VisitScotland
  • Highlands & Islands Enterprise
  • Scottish Natural Heritage
  • Forestry Commission Scotland
  • Cairngorms National Park Authority
  • 9 Tourism Industry representatives

Once approved at the following meeting, minutes of recent meetings of the HTP and any related papers are made available in the "Current documents" section. The next meeting will be held in February 2013.

In late 2006 the HighlandTourism Partnership agreed a new Highland Tourism Partnership Plan building on the Scottish Executive's national tourism strategy (A Tourism Framework for change). This was superceded in summer 2012 by a new industry led national strategy for Leadership and growth "The future of our industry in our hands" and work is now under way to update the Highland strategy to fit in with the new national strategy.
