Freedom of Information and Publications
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by Scottish public authorities, sets out exemptions from that right and places a number of obligations on public authorities. Members of the public already have the right of access to information about themselves under the Data Protection Act 1998 but this new Act greatly extends this right from 1 January 2005.
The background to the legislation and the full list of the information which you can view is contained in our “Model Publication Scheme”, which is viewable below together with Annual Reports, Policies, Standing Orders, Minutes and Agendas and Key Performance Indicators.
