When revaluation took effect on 1 April 2005, the Government introduced regulations for a transitional period of 3 years limiting the amount by which some rates bills could be increased or decreased. The transitional adjustments takes account of the combined effects of:

  • revaluation
  • the amount of rates paid previously

Ratepayers will see the correct charge by 2008/2009.
