Energy and Sustainability (and their energy investigator “Watts’on”!) carry out a programme of interactive workshops at primary schools across the Highlands to raise awareness of important global issues.
Workshop Details
Climate change and energy efficiency
Intended Audience: Secondary School Pupils
The objectives of this workshop are to provide children with an understanding of global warming and how saving energy can help towards reducing their impact on the environment. They are also introduced to renewable energy and the contribution that they can make to reduce our use of fossil fuels.
The workshop cover the following topics:
- Climate change and its causes
- What we can do to prevent climate change
- Energy efficiency
- Renewable energy
- How to save energy in the school
- Interactive energy survey
This fun workshop offers a unique fun way to promote and highlight the energy efficiency challenges to pupils about their behaviour in using energy both in school and home environment.
A number of schools have been identified for renewable energy technologies as a direct result of this initiative.
Renewables
Intended Audience: Secondary School Pupils
