Environmental Health Licences

Environmental Health carries out the administration and enforcement functions for a wide range of licences, which come under the category of ‘Miscellaneous Licences’ and include :-

Animal Boarding – Kennels and catteries/ Game Dealers/ Breeding of dogs/Caravan Sites/ Cinemas/ Dangerous Wild Animals/ Performing Animals/ Pet Shops/ Riding Establishments/ Safety at Sports Grounds/Theatres/ Venison Dealers/Zoos

Trading Standards Licensing

The licensing/ registration schemes currently administered by Trading Standards, include:-

• The storage of petrol at filling stations
• The storage of explosives (including fireworks)
• The sale of (Non-medicinal) poisons
• Registration and approval of premises under the Feed Hygiene Regulations

In addition to the above Trading Standards are also responsible for enforcing the licensing/ registration provisions relating to the operation of Taxis; Private Hire Cars and 2nd Hand Vehicle Dealers.
