Liquor Licensing
The transitional period for the Licensing (Scotland) 2005 Act began on 1st February 2008. The transition period ends on 31st August 2008. Until then the Licensing Board will deal with applications under both Acts.
Current Applications
If you had a current licence on 1st February 2008 it will continue in force until 31st August 2009. Licensees who intend to continue trading will have to make an application for premises licences and where appropriate personal licences.
The 2005 Act places a duty on each council to establish a Local Licensing Forum for its area. Its role is to comment on the Board's general policy approach.
