Trading Standards
The Trading Standards Unit, which is part of Transport, Environmental & Community Services is primarily a consumer protection and fair trading enforcement service. We are a major regulatory service dealing with a wide range of Scottish, U.K. and European legislation relating to the quality, quantity, price, description and safety of goods and services. By enforcing this legislation we can help protect the interests both of Highland consumers and Highland businesses trading fairly.
The aim of the Highland Council Trading Standards is to encourage and maintain a fair and safe trading environment to benefit residents, businesses and visitors to Highland.
The Trading Standards Unit operates from its base in Harbour Road, Inverness.
