Pollution control

In Scotland the responsibility for regulating the various aspects of pollution control are divided between local authorities and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).

Our Environmental Health Service has a duty to monitor and control pollution issues such as:

SEPA regulates potential pollution from industry of natural waters and the air. They also regulate the storage, transportation and disposal of controlled waste and the keeping of radioactive materials.
