Closed school consultations
Dalwhinnie Primary School
On 8 September, the council agreed the proposal to discontinue the provision of education at Dalwhinnie Primary School, re-assigning the school's catchment area to Newtonmore Primary School.
Scottish Ministers were notified of the decision and provided with a copy of the Proposal Paper and Consultation Report. They had an 8 week period from the date of our decision to decide if they would intervene by issuing a call-in notice. The Highland Council received confirmation on 2 November 2016 that the Council’s decision to close Dalwhinnie Primary School has not been called in by Ministers.
Strontian Primary School
We have published a final report on our proposal to improve the accommodation at Strontian Primary School.

Skye - Former Merger Proposals
This proposal was called in by Scottish Ministers and referred to the School Closure Review Panel on 1 May 2015. The School Closure Review Panel subsequently refused consent to the proposal. We are now considering how to best to improve the school estate in North West Skye.
