Overview

The Isle of Skye Ferry Community Interest Company successfully secured a LEADER grant towards the cost of constructing a new environmentally sustainable visitor’s centre at the Glenelg ferry slipway. The building will provide office and retail space for the ferry operation, and provide visitor information on wildlife, heritage and local tourism opportunities. The project aims to put an income earning asset in the hands of the community and secure the long-term sustainability of the ferry company by creating jobs and training for local people in maritime work and tourism.
