Educational Psychologists are members of the multi-agency groups that support children and young people as they move through the transition stage between formal education and the world of work or further education and training. Psychologists are trained in using a Person Centred Planning approach in planning for transitions for young people.
Educational Psychologists are available to provide advice and consultation to post 16 service providers including adult social work services, voluntary organisations, colleges, young offenders' institutions, training providers and others. They can provide support for service evaluation and support in developing more effective ways of working within the organisation.
The Psychological Service can contribute to the in-service training programmes of the service provider, providing input on issues arising from a need at a particular time or contributing to the development priorities within the provider’s development plan. More information on what training the Service can deliver is available under Training Topics.
If you are a organisation that works with young people who are leaving or have left school please get in touch with the Service to find out more about our role. Contact details are available at the link to contact details
