The Pre-School Home visiting Teachers have developed STORY SaacKs. STORY SaacKs are suitable for Pre-School and Primary 1 aged children and contain books and other resources.
The range of stories includes simple lift the flap books, traditional tales and books with lots of repetition.
Each STORY SaacK will also include a selection of resources to make books more interesting for your child and to help develop their language skills. Resources available include;
- Toys and real objects from the story
- Photographs of the toys and objects
- Picture Symbol boards for matching, pointing or naming
- Makaton Signs
- Communication aids (Go-Talk, Big Mac, One Step) with repetitive phrases from the stories
The stories and resources will be chosen to match the chil'd interests.
The STORY SaacKs may also be loaned to a child's Playgroup or Nursery.
