School Consultations

The Highland Council carried out a consultation under the terms of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010:

The consultation by Highland Council ran from Monday 3 September 2012 to Wednesday 31 October 2012.  A meeting was held at 6.30pm, Thursday 27 September 2012 at Kyleakin Village Hall, Kyleakin, IV41 8PH.

All comments received will be summarised and made available to elected members who will consider the consultation report at the Adult and Children's Services Committee on 23 January 2013.


The Highland Council has carried out the following consultation under the terms of the schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010:

The consultation by Highland Council ran from Monday 12 March to Friday 11 May 2012.  A meeting was held on Tuesday 27 March 2012 at 7pm at St Bride's Primary School, Onich,  PH33 6SA.

All comments received have been summarised and made available to elected members who willl consider the consultation report at the Education Culture and Sport Committee on 9 August 2012.


 The Highland Council carried out the following consultation under the terms of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010:

The consultation by Highland Council ran from Monday 21 March to Friday 20 May 2011.  A meeting was held on Thursday 28 April at 7.00 pm at Council Chambers Lochaber House, Fort William, PH33 7NE.

All comments received are summarised and were made available to elected members who considered the consultation report at the Education Culture and Sport Committee on 9 August 2011.


The Highland Council carried out the following consultation under the terms of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010:

  • Proposal to change the provision of education in Staffin Primary School by making the school a Gaelic Medium School with an English Medium provision - Consultation Report (pdf 586kb)

The Consultation by Highland Council ran from Monday 4 October 2010 to Friday 3 December 2010.  A public meeting was held in Staffin Primary School on Tuesday 9 November 2010.

All comments received were summarised and made available to elected members who considered the consultation report at the Education Culture and Sport Committee on Thursday 10 March 2011.


The Highland Council carried out the following consultation under the terms of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010:

The consultation by The Highland Council ran from Monday 23 August until Friday 1 October. A public meeting was held at the Assembly Rooms, Wick,on Monday 13 September 2010.

All comments received were summarised and made available to Elected Members who considered this Consultation Report at the Education Culture & Sport Committee on 13 January 2011.

Wick - Primary Schools Consultation

The Highland Council carried out the following consultation under the terms of the Schools (consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010:

  • Proposal to amalgamate Hillhead Primary School and North Primary School in a new school on the site of existing North Primary School.
  • Proposal to amalgamate Pulteneytown Academy Primary School and South Primary School in a new school to be incorporated within a 3-18 campus on the Wick High School site.

The original consultation ran from Monday 15 August until Monday 26 September. Here are the consultation reports:
