Dochgarroch Primary School is a small rural school situated four miles from Inverness on the A82 Fort William road. The school was first opened in 1875. The school provides bright, comfortable accommodation for pupils within the designated area, which is from the Caledonian Canal to Loch Laide in Abriachan, and from the Crematorium to the Clansman Hotel on Loch Ness side.
There is a current roll of 33 pupils. The stages range from P1 to P7 and are accommodated in two classrooms, taught by two teaching staff. The classes are presently divided into P1-3 and P4-7. A Nursery Unit for 3-4 year old children has been in operation since August 1999 offering five sessions per week.
The atmosphere is friendly.
The school is a focal point of an otherwise scattered community and endeavours to promote a sense of belonging and play an important part in the wider community.
In session 2005-06 the pupils were awarded their second Eco Flag.
