Smithton Primary School provides a caring family atmosphere where youngsters learn to work alongside each other in a safe and secure environment.  The school community promotes healthy minds, healthy attitudes and healthy lifestyles with children encouraged to be successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. An ethos of achievement and celebration of success is promoted.  We actively encourage partnership between home, school and the wider community and have a supportive School Board.  There are presently 9 classes in the school from P1 – P7 and a nursery for 3 and 4 year olds with morning and afternoon sessions. Pupils who have additional needs are supported in class by teachers and/or learning support auxiliaries.  There are currently 233 pupils in P1-7 with a further 28 pupils in the Nursery and the school has 17 teaching staff.
