Since 1876 Merkinch School has provided primary education for the youngsters in the South Kessock, Carse and Merkinch area which is bounded by the River Ness, the Caledonian Canal and Telford Street.
The recently added nursery unit has 44 pupils and there are currently 11 primary 1 -7 classes with 284 pupils altogether.
Merkinch School endeavours to maintain a culture of ambition and achievement by engaging pupils in the highest quality learning activities. We work together with parents and the community to improve learning and promote well-being and respect. We aim to develop pupils who are successful learners confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.
