Records suggest that there has been a school in Kingussie (or the ancient parish of Ruthven) since the time of the Columban missionaries, and although today a smallish school by national standards, we maintain a long and proud academic record which precedes the 1872 Education Act. Today, Kingussie High School is a vibrant and progressive school situated by the River Spey and looking out towards the Cairngorms. It is well equipped and committed to preparing its pupils for life in the 21st century. The school caters for children from the age of 11 up to 18 and has as its motto the Gaelic “Du Dichiollach” – with diligence. The current roll is 420 and the school has 44 teaching staff.
