Inverie Primary School serves the community of approximately 120 people on the Knoydart peninsula. The 10 pupils who presently make up the P1-7 primary class and the 3 nursery children benefit from a close partnership between school, home and the village community and are supported by an active Parent Council.

As an inclusive school, we aim to assist each child to progress from his/her current level of ability, regardless of age or class stage. With such small numbers, we are also able to consider the different pace and preferred style of learning of each child and adjust lessons accordingly.

Nursery and primary children regularly join together for games, lunches or music sessions as well as the annual Christmas performance. This close and flexible partnership prepares nursery children well for the transition to primary.

The annual Small Isles residential week is only one of many opportunities created to aid a smooth transition to secondary schooling on the mainland.

In Inverie Primary, the children are happy, enthusiastic pupils, supportive of each other in all their learning.  They have a clear committment to sustainable living, and take their citizenship responsibilities to the environment seriously.
