Millbank Primary School prides itself on providing pupils with a stimulating learning environment. We encourage pupils to be actively involved in their learning by setting challenging yet realistic targets, supported by staff and parents. Achievement is recognised and success celebrated in a variety of ways, including weekly assemblies, Millbank Moments Newsletter and on displays around the school. We actively promote partnership between home, school and the wider community and have an active and supportive parent body. We are a health promoting school and offer our pupils opportunities to participate in various activities, which promote a healthy lifestyle. We also offer opportunities for pupils to hold positions of responsibility within the school, such as prefects, librarians, playground friends, pupil council, Eco-committee members, Base Buddies and SNAG (School Nutrition Action Group) members. There are presently 11 mainstream classes in the school with a further class taught in the medium of Gaelic. We also have a facility to support children with additional support needs. This provides a combination of small group support and inclusion within mainstream classes. There are currently 298 pupils in P1-7 with a further 35 pupils in the Nursery and the school has 18 teaching staff.
