The school is situated in the village of Glenelg. Its catchments area extends from Moyle to Arnisdale, which forms part of an area of outstanding natural beauty in its location on the magnificent west coast. The area has a rich historical background with its Brochs, the barracks at Bernera, Sandaig and its connections with the 'Ring of Bright Water' and the road in over Mam Ratagan.
Glenelg Primary School is a school with 2 teaching staff and 2 Nursery Staff. It is in a small rural location where a sizeable proportion of the families have lived in the area for more than one generation and therefore the school is very much an essential part of the community. This fact is well represented through the support given by the community see in many school activities. The school, in return, aims to match this by making every effort to welcome the community into school life in as many of its activities as possible. Glenelg Primary School provides its pupils with a stimulating learning environment which is supported by an ethos of encouraging achievement and celebrating success. There are presently 2 composite classes, classes 1 – 4 and classes 4 - 7 in the school and a Nursery class with 3yr and 4yr olds.
