Badcaul Primary School is a small, rural school in a beautiful location with panoramic views of Little Loch Broom.  The population of the area is widespread and relatively small, and perhaps because of this it is close-knit and caring.  The school is well supported by both the parental and wider community.  Regular school events are very well attended and members of the Parent Council are frequently involved in school activities and are keen to organise fundraising events for the benefit of the children within the school.  We are proud of our home-school relationships.  The parents are very supportive of the school and very active in school life.

There are currently 15 children within the school and 3 in the Nursery making Badcaul Primary a single teacher school.  The original part of the school building is made of traditional stone.  Contained within this part of the building are the Nursery, school office and store rooms and a good-sized school hall which is used for music, PE and community events.  This building has been extended to create space for the nursery and school toilets, staffroom, a well-stocked library and the classroom.  The classroom is spacious and organised to create plenty of space to incorporate active learning in the Early Years.  Most of the rooms have been redecorated within the last few years and the school is therefore bright and inviting.

We have amazing loch views from the school playground, and an exciting, well-stocked Nursery garden.  Playground equipment has recently been purchased for the playground, and the children are actively involved in eco-group activities, in which they take care of the local environment and school surroundings.  The children and school community are very proud of the area in which they live and take an interest in their natural surroundings.  We currently have silver eco-school status, a Green Tree Award and are a Level 4 Health Promoting School.
