Scoraig School provides an exciting and challenging curriculum for children and young people aged between 3-14 years. We presently have 15 children in the school. The school has a nursery and two school buildings. The children may work in either building. We offer a full and vibrant curriculum. We try to use the wonderful natural resources that are around us on Scoraig to inspire our creative writing, art, dance and drama. We actively encourage the children to learn to play live music and presently teach fiddle, guitar, tin whistle, drums, keyboards, cello, recorder and chanter. On occasions we are fortunate to profit from visiting specialists, who bring new vision into our work. Scoraig School has very strong links with our parents and the community. It is seen as an integral part of life on the peninsula. Scoraig School also looks beyond the here and now to future horizons. It has a clear commitment to sustainable and innovative technologies and aims to educate people to become effective contributors by thinking creatively through the sciences, technologies and through social studies. Scoraig School also has established links with schools within Highland and as far away as Ghana. We take our citizenship responsibilities to the environment seriously and are an enthusiastic eco-school. It is by learning and developing together, building skills in language and in mathematics, sharing our experience and our aspirations that we become confident individuals and successful learners, ready to tackle new challenges in the future.
