Pulteneytown Academy provides its pupils with an attractive, stimulating environment supported by an ethos of encouraging achievement and celebrating success in all areas.  Children are encouraged to become confident, responsible citizens who effectively contribute to, care about and respect their community.  They are supported in achieving their full potential by a hard working, forward looking staff who use a range of teaching and collaborative learning strategies which have been shown to be most effective.

We are a Health Promoting School who achieved the top Level 4 award in 2005.  We actively promote partnership with parents, have an active Parent Staff Association and encourage links with the wider community.

There are currently 7 mainstream classes with a total of 190 pupils and a nursery of 31 children with 41 enrolled for nursery next session.  The school has a policy of inclusion and equal opportunities and we support a number of pupils with Additional Support Needs in mainstream classes.  We have close links with Caithness Early Years Autism Centre which is housed in the east wing of the building.
