Thrumster School lies on the edge of the village of Thrumster, some four miles south of Wick.  The school serves the surrounding rural districts of Clyth, Ulbster, Tannach and Sarclet.

The building consists of two classrooms, dining room, General Purpose room and a Nursery room.

The children have access to a large, fenced grass and tarmac area. Improvements to the school grounds are ongoing to make them more attractive and useful as an educational resource.

In Thrumster School and Nursery we provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment for pupils, staff and visitors to school in which meaningful learning can take place.  We encourage pupils to develop self discipline, respect and tolerance.  We strive to develop effective working relationships between the school, parents and the local community.

Currently pupils are taught in two classes, P1-3 and P4-7.  The school roll currently sits at 21 pupils with 9 children in the Nursery.  The Nursery caters for children from age three.
