SKILL UP 2010 April 16th – 18th at Eden Court, Inverness
SKILL UP is our renowned annual networking and skill development event for those working with young people in a theatre context. SKILL UP endeavours to provide a broad range of quality training experiences that appeal to all levels, skills and abilities, it is our vision to set a benchmark of practice development that participants will aim to deliver to the young people they work with.
Now in its 6th year, SKILL UP brings together youth theatre leaders, facilitators, tutors, directors, teachers, students, and other artists with a stake in the sector. The aim of the event is to offer individuals the opportunity to develop skills, share their practice and experiences, network with colleagues and establish new contacts within the sector. SKILL UP is the only event of its kind in Scotland.

Continuing Professional Development

The Highland Continuing Professional Development (CPD) web site has information on courses for school staff in Highland. It has additional material to support probationer teachers and those working towards Chartered Teacher or management qualifications. It also includes the Highland CPD Framework, which has information on the professional review and development process for teachers.
Highland Virtual Learning Community

This is Highland’s learning and teaching web site. In the pupils’ section you will find web sites selected for their relevance to the school curriculum and sites to help them choose books to read for pleasure. The parents’ section has information about schools in Highland, and about the Psychological and Support for Learners services which support pupils who have difficulties of various kinds which affect their learning. Parents may also be interested in the Learning and Teaching Toolkit, which is a guide to help teachers put into practice the aims of the learning and teaching policy. The staffroom includes a range of information to support teachers, school librarians and other school staff. The quality assurance section includes information relating to policy and planning.
