Adults - there are two main types of membership, full and temporary.
Full members need to complete a joining form and provide both proof of identity and address.
Temporary members need only provide proof of identity.
Children - all children (under the age of 16) need to have a guarantor's signature when joining the library. Guarantors also need to provide proof of identity and their address.

Acceptable forms of identity are; passport, driving licence, national ID card or current student card. Acceptable forms of proof of address are; allowance book, utility bill, rent book.
If you cannot visit your local library during opening hours then you can join online as a temporary member by completing this form. Once we receive the form, we send out your library card and PIN. This allows you to take advantage of our online library service which includes our e-reference library and our online catalogue. You can upgrade to full membership by visiting any one of our 40 built libraries or by using any one of our mobile libraries.
