Adults - there are two main types of membership, full and temporary.
Full members need to complete a joining form and provide both proof of identity and address.
Temporary members need only provide proof of identity.
Children - all children (under the age of 16) need to have a guarantor's signature when joining the library. Guarantors also need to provide proof of identity and their address.

Acceptable forms of identity are; passport, driving license, national entitlement card or current student card. Acceptable forms of proof of address are; allowance book, utility bill, rent book.
You can manage your Highland Libraries account online. Check and renew your loans, make reservations, view inter-library loans, browse your loan history, view charges and change or reset your PIN number. Forgot Your PIN?
If you provided the Library with a valid email address you can click on the Reset your PIN link on the login screen in the My Account page of the library catalogue. An email with instructions on changing your PIN will be sent to the email address registered on your account.
If you have not have provided us with a valid email address, please visit your local library with valid identification to obtain a PIN or to reset your PIN for you. Your PIN cannot be changed or confirmed by phone or email unless suitable identification has been provided.
