W. F Howes have now launched a new platform for downloading audiobooks. To contiue to use this service, please re-register with the new site by creating a new free account.

Please note: We regret that it is currently not possible to access to the download service on public library PC's via People's Network internet service.

Welcome to Highland Libraries new pilot download service. Library members can download audio books free and listen to hundreds of fiction and Non-fiction titles from W. F. Howes Audio direct from the OneClick Digital portal.


Create a Free Account

Clcik on the create an account link above, enter your 14-digit library card number, complete the required fields and choose a password. Select your computer's operating system - either Apple Mac or Windows.

Download the One Click Download manager

Please note: to ensure successfull download please open and log-in to the Download Manager in Windows first before checking out a book for download.


Downloading Audiobooks

Step 1. Open the Download Manager and Log-in

Step 2. Log-in to One Click Digital website

Once your free account has been created, log-in to One Click Digital using your choosen username and password. Click here to log-in.

Step 3. Search for eAudiobooks

Search for Audiobooks using the 'free text' search box or 'Browse by Category' to find a variety of genres from classic literature to Self-help collections. 

Step 4. Check-out Audio book

Choose a title to download and click 'Download' to to borrow the title.


Step 5. Connect MP3 Player and configure iTunes

Connected your mp3 player to your PC and open iTunes before clicking download.

a) Within iTunes select the connected iPod in the Devices list.
b) Click the Summary tab and select "Manually manage music and videos".
c) Click Apply to save changes.

Please note: some devices which don't support itunes may require download via 'Windows Media Player'. You can set this within the Download manager under 'preferences'.

Step 6. Download your Audiobook

On the next screen, click 'DOWNLOAD' to begin the download process. You will be prompted to intstall the latest version of the 'Download Manager' before downloading begins.

Join Highland Libraries to start Downloading

To download and listen to audiobooks for free, all you need is access to a PC or handheld device with internet access and your Highland Library card number and PIN.  Each title comes with unlimited availability and simultaneous access to more than 600 bestselling Clipper Audio titles. Sign up for free to download and “borrow” up to ten audio books for as long as three weeks.  If required, each download can be renewed once.

Visit any Highland library and complete a membership form along with an appropriate form of ID to join the library.

You will receive a library card with a unique barcode number and PIN to access our online services and login to create a free download account following the steps above.
