Your local library

High Life Highland delivers community learning and leisure services including library and information services on behalf of The Highland Council.

Each area of the The Highland Council has its own libraries and library team led by an Area Libraries Officer.  The Library Support Unit (based in Inverness) provides a professional support centre for the network. Here standards are set and performance monitored to ensure that a consistent, high quality, customer-focused library and information service is delivered throughout the Highlands.  Together they all form the Highland Libraries Network.

General information about using our services is set out in How to Join the Library Service page.

For information about an individual library follow one of the links below, or on the map which shows the location of all of our libraries:

Using your library space for display

Free library display space is generally reserved for charitable/not for profit purposes. This often includes organisations or individuals  charging for attendance or selling items to raise money. Occasionally the decision will be made to publicise a commercial event on the basis that it is ‘in the public or community interest’ to know about it.   eg the local Agricultural show or a visiting theatre group.

Update your library account details and e-mail contact

We are now using the e-mail addresses of library members as our preferred method of contact to tell members about requests or overdue items, library information and news.

Please ensure we have a current e-mail address by speaking to staff or
go to the on-line library catalogue, logon to My Account, and update your details.
