Swimming Pool Closure
The Highland Council apologises to people in the Dingwall area for the continued closure of Dingwall Leisure Centre swimming pool and reminds all High Life members that their membership is valid at 14 other swimming pools across the Highlands including nearest Alness, Invergordon, Tain and Inverness pools.
The Highland Council’s Resources Committee has agreed to urgently proceed with plans to repair the roof of Dingwall Leisure Pool at an estimated cost of £600,000.
A target reopening date of February 2012 has been set by the Housing and Property Service, who hope to award the contract in August.
Members of Dingwall and Seaforth Ward are delighted that the repairs have been given a priority and that urgent action has been taken to award a contract and obtain permissions for the works.
The structural timber beams and the roof deck have suffered from serious water damage over time, forcing closure of the pool.
Although the swimming pool is closed all other facilities/activities are available within Dingwall Leisure Centre as normal
