Highland Tourism Partnership

The Highland Council is a major partner in the Highland Tourism Partnership (HTP). This partnership brings together representatives of the Tourism Industry as well as all the main agencies involved in tourism in the Highland and Moray areas. Membership of the Area Tourism Partnership comprises:

  • The Highland Council
  • Moray Council 
  • VisitScotland
  • Highlands & Islands Enterprise
  • Scottish Natural Heritage
  • Forestry Commission Scotland
  • Cairngorms National Park Authority
  • 9 Tourism Industry representatives

Minutes of recent meetings of the HTP and any related papers are available in the "Current documents" section. The next meeting will be held in May 2012.

In late 2006 the HighlandTourism Partnership agreed a new Highland Tourism Partnership Plan building on the Scottish Executive's national tourism strategy (A Tourism Framework for change). The Plan comprises two documents: a Strategy and an Action Plan with the Strategy outlining longer term aims for the period to 2015 while a new action plan agreed in 2009 details specific actions to be undertaken in the short term.
