The Highland Council Countryside Ranger base for Northwest Sutherland includes a ‘hands on’ display of local natural history artefacts and a mine of information on local wildlife, wildflowers, geology, archaeology and many other related topics. The large Visit Scotland section has a wide variety of sales; including Scottish books, local crafts, maps, postcards and many souvenir gifts to suit all tastes. There is also a mounted display of Highland crofting life through the year and a magnificent tapestry, made by local schoolchildren, depicting Durness through the ages.
