The Inverness Area is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, from the heights of the Monadhliath Mountains down to Loch Ness and north to the splendour of Glen Affric. Inverness has gained recognition as a centre of horticultural excellence, winning numerous awards in the Beautiful Scotland in Bloom and Britain in Bloom initiatives.

The centre-piece of the Inverness Floral Experience is the Floral Hall - a sub-tropical corner amid the grandeur of Highland scenery which provides a fitting addition to the range of parks, gardens, sports facilities and leisure provision which can be found in Inverness.

The Floral Hall Visitor Centre is located in scenic Bught Park which sits on the banks of River Ness within enjoyable walking distance from Inverness Castle.

In a climatically controlled greenhouse environment you can stroll along winding paths through a sub-tropical landscape enhanced with a grotto, waterfall, fountain and tropical fish pond which is home to a variety of Koi Carp.

Ferns flourish in their own moist corner and display benches hold a constantly changing array of seasonal plants. A separate award winning Cactus House is home to a large collection of various cacti.

Take a rest on one of the seats placed beneath the the palms and exotic trees, where you can study the plants which are all labelled, helping you to identify each specimen by its name and country of origin.

Outside are the Demonstration Gardens which comprise a number of landscaped areas including a rhododendron corner, herbaceous border, scree, alpine and heather beds and a water garden all of which are complemented with structures, sculptures and the occasional surprise. These include raised beds which are planted with tactile and highly scented plants specially for people who are partially sighted or with a disability.

It is hoped that visitors can pick up some ideas for their own gardens, as well as seeing what can be achieved through horticultural excellence. The Floral Hall and Demonstration Gardens are part of the Highland Council's working Bught Nursery, and professional staff are always around to answer your queries about the plants on display or on any other horticultural matters.

A cafe where light refreshments are served can also be found in the Visitor Centre.  Exhibitions and displays on Scottish themes are also a constant feature in the Visitor Centre. The Floral Hall is a beautiful setting for Wedding Ceremonies and is an approved venue for Civil Marriages. It is also popular as an all weather venue for Wedding Photography for marriages that take place elsewhere.  Our staff will be pleased to deal with any enquiries.

Most of the complex is fully accessible to people with a disability and a wheelchair is provided at the Floral Hall for the convenience of visitors.
There is a modest admission charge. Discount season tickets are also available.

The Floral Hall has been "awarded 3 stars" by the Scottish Tourist Board

There are many other attractions and facilities for visitors to enjoy within the Bught Park area including Inverness Aquadome and Sports Centre, Ness Islands, the mini-golf course, Inverness Ice Rink and a train ride, boats for hire and innovative play equipment for all ages at nearby Whin Park.
