Details of the Disabled Persons’ Parking Places (Scotland) Act 2009
What is a Disabled Persons’ On-Street Parking Place?
A parking place which forms part of a road and is marked and signposted for use by a disabled persons’ vehicle
A parking place that does not form part of a road but to which the public have access and is marked for use by a disabled persons’ vehicle
A person who, without the use of a car, has a severe mobility problem and fulfils all of the following criteria:
- Is the holder of a disabled persons’ blue badge
- Has a suitable vehicle registered with DVLA at his/her home address
Every effort will be made to install a disabled persons’ parking place at or near the home of a suitably qualified applicant but consideration will be given to other road safety issues. E.g. a parking place will not be installed on a road at or near a bend/junction/etc. or in a narrow street where it would restrict the movement of large vehicles such as ‘buses, refuse lorries or fire engines.

- to provide the number of your Blue Badge
- the registration mark of the vehicle registered to your address
- a photocopy of the V5 – vehicle log book – showing the ownership details of the vehicle. You must not send the original
Be aware that false information may invalidate your application
There is no charge for a residential disabled persons’ parking place
Any vehicle displaying a blue badge can use a disabled persons’ parking place that may be installed at or near your home
Disabled persons’ parking places deemed to be no longer required may be removed.
