Energy Efficiency Grants

The Energy Assistance Package aims to tackle all aspects of affordable heat not just energy efficiency.

The package will consist of 4 stages with stages 1 to 3 widely available to all households and stage 4 will be focused on homes with very poor energy efficiency and lived in by those households most vulnerable to problems meeting their fuel costs.

The aim of the package is to:

  • Increase incomes, reduce fuel bills and improve the energy efficiency of homes by offering an integrated package;
  • Provide benefits and tax credit checks and access to the lowest-cost energy rates;
  • Install standard insulation measures provided free for those who are eligible; and
  • Install enhanced energy efficiency measures - including central heating, renewable heating systems and insulation for hard to heat homes - for low income households including families living in homes with the lowest energy efficiency.

The Energy Assistance Package will be delivered by the existing network of Energy Saving Scotland Advice Centres (ESSAC) and in partnership with existing advice providers, energy companies and the Scottish Government.
