Inverness - Gateway to the Highlands of Scotland
Inverness Registration Office is situated in Moray House, Bank Street on the bank of the River Ness.
Comfortable seating is available for parties from 4 to 30 in total. A member of staff will be available to welcome the party and their guests. Our office is situated in Moray House, Bank Street. The Ceremony Suite, which is available for viewing by arrangement, is suitable for disabled access.
Because of limited parking, generally only one car may use the area immediately outside.
Photographs may be taken after the ceremony (usually the signing of the schedule). Requests for video recording should be discussed with the Registrar.
Background music is played before and after the ceremony. You may supply music of your choice, after discussion with the Registrar.
Silk arrangements are provided. If desired you may wish to supply fresh flowers.
Inverness Town House
Subject to availability, parties of up to 100 in total may be accomodated in Inverness Town House, which has been designated as part of the Registration Office for the purpose of civil ceremonies. Further information, including booking procedure, is available from the Registrar or in the 'Current Documents' section opposite.
Other Approved Venues in or around Inverness
You may wish to have your ceremony in a hotel or other venue of your choice, provided it has been approved by the local authority for that purpose. Further information regarding approved premises is available from the Registrar and a full list of Approved Venues in Highland can be found in the 'Related Information' section opposite.
If your preferred venue has not been approved for civil ceremonies you should contact the Registrar fro further advice.
Please note
Prior to the ceremony the parties are required to verify all details to be recorded on the schedule which will be signed during the ceremony, and to discuss the form of ceremony used. A separate appointment is required for this, at a time to be mutually agreed.
The Chief Registrar or Senior Registrar will be happy to discuss any aspects relating to your civil ceremony.
