Wick Registration Office is situated in the Town Hall and the ceremony room is on the 1st floor of this Victorian building, reached by an attractive staircase. Formerly the Council Meeting Chambers,the large wood-panelled room houses some of the town's collection of paintings. The room can comfortably accommodate parties of up to 60 in total.
There is no disabled access to this room but an alternative is available on the ground floor. This is suitable for wedding parties of up to 25 people.
There are no immediate parking facilities But adequate parking is available within 2/3 minutes' walk.
Photographs or video recording may be taken during the ceremony.
Background music can arranged by request. You may supply music of your choice, after discussion with the Registrar.
Silk arrangements are provided. If desired you may wish to supply fresh flowers.
Other Approved Venues in and around Wick
You may wish to have your ceremony in a hotel or other venue of your choice, provided it has been approved by the local authority for that purpose. Further information regarding approved premises is available from the Registrar. A full list of Approved Venues in the Highlands can be found in the 'Related Information' section opposite.
If your preferred venue has not been approved for civil ceremonies you should contact the Registrar for further advice.
Please note
Prior to the ceremony the parties are required to verify all details to be recorded on the schedule which will be signed during the ceremony, and to discuss the form of ceremony used. A separate appointment is required for this, at a time to be mutually agreed.
