Cairn Housing Association has recently completed 16 two-bedroom flats on a previously derelict brownfield site, knows as the Bon Accord Lemonade factory. 8 of the flats will be for affordable rent and 8 for low cost home ownership under LIFT, the shared equity initiative. The scheme was discussed at the local housing development forum, identifying that the project would be viable through the housing association working in partnership with the private developer on a ‘Design and Build’ contract, at benchmark costs. With funding from the Scottish Government, this mixed tenure development continues the regeneration of the area, as can be seen from the ‘before and after’ photos above.
