SACRO Highland community mediation service

We have set up a new Community Mediation Service, provided by an independent organisation called SACRO (Safeguarding Communities, Reducing Offending).
 
SACRO have a proven record in obtaining results in difficult and longstanding neighbour disputes. It is already helping resolve disputes for Highland residents.

What is Mediation?
 
Mediation is a way of dealing with disputes that can help those involved reach an agreement that everyone can live with.  This mediation is free, voluntary, confidential and impartial.  It can help the parties involved work out a mutually acceptable agreement and it concentrates on practical solutions for the future.  Mediation can stop problems getting out of hand.  It aims to improve the situation for everyone involved. 
 
How is Highland Community Mediation working in practice?
 
The Mediation Service is available throughout the Highlands, regardless of whether the people involved rent or own their own house.   The team is based in Inverness but will travel throughout the Highlands, so the service is available wherever you live in the Highland Council Area.
