Most people who rent their homes and are on no or a low income, are entitled to receive Housing Benefit to help meet their housing costs. For those renting from private landlords, Housing Benefit was replaced by Local Housing Allowance (LHA) in April 2008. More details of Local Housing Allowance and the indicative levels are on the Highland Council website.
