Care and Repair

For applicants aged over 65 who have difficulties arranging for either large adaptations, or repair and improvement works to be carried out, and for applicants with a disability, we offer the Care and Repair Service which is a partnership between the Highland Council and an Agent local to you.

How can Care and Repair help me?

  • You will be offered assistance from Care and Repair if you are aged over 65 or if you have a disability, and you have been assessed and approved for work through the Scheme of Assistance.
  • Care and Repair can assist you with both approved Repair and Improvement Works or with approved Adaptations.
  • The service is in place to help you make applications for financial assistance, find your contractor you you, obtain quotes for the work, and to manage the works on your behalf

How do I access the service?

  • If your property is inspected by a Technical officer who recommends works which can be supported by the Scheme of Assistance, you will be referred to Care and Repair
  • if you are assessed as needing an Adaptation which can be supported by the Scheme of Assistance , you will be referred to Care and Repair.
  • Alternatively, you can contact your local agent directly to discuss your needs and they will help you from that point.
