On behalf of the Highland council High Life Highland supports the Youth Convener from its Inverness offices in Ardross Street, this is an arms length company set up in October 2011 to deliver community learning and leisure services for The Highland Council.
We look for the Highland’s next Youth Convener between Spring and early Summer. They work with the Council’s Youth Development Team in developing Highland Youth Voice and other initiatives that increase youth involvement in decisions that affect them. They are a key representative of young people in Highland at various committee meetings and must be aware of a full spectrum of issues affecting a wide range of young people and be able to represent their views. A good communicator – speaker/facilitator/reader/writer, with work experience in youth projects and the ability to work with and relate to a wide range of people and organisations is very important.
