Chance to cast your vote for Aird and Loch Ness community projects

Community, voluntary and non-profit organisations based in Aird and Loch Ness will come together on Saturday 18 February to present their ideas to the public in hope of receiving a grant of between £100 and £1500.

The call for groups to come up with ideas on how to make their local area better has received a great response and on the 18 February at the Your Ward, Your Cash, Your Choice event in Craigmonie Centre in Drumnadrochit around 20 presentations will be made.

Doors will open at 10:00 for a 10:30am start. Each applicant will be given a 2-minute presentation slot and then will be quizzed by the audience for a further two minutes. Organisations will highlight how their project will improve the local community. All attendees will then be asked to vote to determine which projects are funded.

Local Ward Councillors, Jean Davis, Margaret Davidson, Hamish Wood and Helen Carmichael are pleased to see so many applications for the Your Ward, Your Cash, Your Choice participatory grant fund. They encourage everyone to come along to find out what is happening locally and cast his or her vote to help decide which projects are funded.

It is important that as many people to attend as possible so that the projects that are funded are a reflection of the priorities in the area. The event is more than just a way of distributing funding and we hope that it will be an opportunity for the whole community to come together.

Any individual who wishes to vote must register between 10:00 and 1030 am and stay for the whole event. To be eligible to vote you must live in the Aird and Loch Ness area.
