It’s been a busy season by all accounts in the northwest Highlands and it’s not over yet. During August and September, The Highland Council’s ranger service has a number of events for all interest and levels of fitness.

Next week, on Wednesday 16 August, is the second walk and boat trip to Tanera Mor, one of the Summer Isles. Spaces are limited so book quickly if you are keen to come along on this great excursion.

Travelling further south in Wester Ross, on Tuesday 22 of August the Highland Council Ranger Jenny Grant will be leading a guided walk to explore the wildlife of the Shieldaig peninsula.  Later in the week Ullapool will be hosting the furthest north event as part of International Bat Night. Why not join Jenny for a guided bat walk on the night of Friday 25 August to learn about these fascinating mammals?

The meeting place for all walks will be given out at the time of booking. For more information about Wester Ross events, please call or email Jenny to book or for more information; 01854 613904, jenny.grant@highland.gov.uk
