New Chairman of The Nevis Partnership

Issued by the Nevis Partnership

Cameron McNeish, internationally known mountaineer and journalist, has been appointed Chairman of the Nevis Partnership.

Cameron said: "I am absolutely delighted to be involved with the Nevis Partnership and I'm very aware of what the Partnership has already achieved. The Nevis area – the mountain, the glen and the river, are undoubtedly iconic features of the Scottish landscape and as such have to be looked after in a way that is acceptable not only to the thousands of visitors who come to be inspired and uplifted by the natural grandeur but also to the local people who live and work in the immediate area. Like any Scottish mountaineer, Ben Nevis holds a special place in my heart and I hope my involvement with the Nevis Partnership will put a little bit back in return for the countless days I've enjoyed on the hill and in its glen."

John Hutchison, company secretary, said: “Over the last five years the Partnership has moved forward steadily, as another Lochaber initiative, and Cameron’s appointment will help us to gain a higher national profile.”
