Ranger walks head for the heights.

Highland Council’s Caithness Rangers are inviting people with a head for heights to join then on two cliff-top walks over the next week.

On Friday 1st June, Lindsey Duncan will lead a cliff top walk along the Corbigoe Coast to view the spectacular scenery and vast colonies of nesting seabirds including guillemot, razorbill, kittiwakes and many more.

Participants are asked to meet at Scarlett Haven at 11am to share cars and the walk is expected to last until 1.30pm.

Also on Tuesday 5th June, Lindsey will aim for Holborn Head following another cliff top walk which passes by blow holes, gloups and stacks. Anyone who wants to know what a ‘gloup’ is should to join the walk to find out. The Rangers also hope to spot the tiny small blue butterfly. Would-be participants should meet on the track to the lighthouse at Scrabster Harbour.

Organised as part of The Highland Council’s Planning and Development Services countryside events programme, these events are free to attend. For further information on the Corbigoe Coast – Close Up Walk or the Holburn Head Highlights walk please telephone 01955 607758.
