MacDonald Brothers play Sunart Centre

One of Scotland’s most recognised bands of today and former X-Factor contenders, the MacDonald Brothers - Craig and Brian from Ayr - are to play at the Sunart Centre in Strontian on Friday 1st August at 7.30pm.

The MacDonald brothers have come a long way since appearing on the X-Factor in 2006 where they finished fourth in the overall competition and came first out of the groups. Since leaving the X-Factor the brothers have signed with an independent Scottish record label that have helped raise them to become one of Scotland’s most well-known bands.

The Macs have enjoyed tremendous success in the past two years with them topping the Scottish album charts with two gold certificated albums reaching the number one and two spots consecutively.

In 2007 the Macs enjoyed a sell out Scottish tour and were given an unreleased song (“Runaway”) written by Sir Elton John to include on their second album.

The MacDonald Brothers have just finished touring with Westlife on their UK wide tour and are now embarking on the first leg of their 2008 Scottish summer tour before heading off to Australia where they have another overseas deal.

Manager of The Highland Council’s Sunart Centre Eoghan Carmichael says: “This is another great opportunity for the people of our remote communities to see a top class performance in the Sunart Centre. We are delighted that the brothers have agreed to visit us and the prospect has been greeted with eager anticipation by many in the area. We look forward to a sell out night that will be great fun for all”.

Tickets (£12 and £9) for Friday 1st August at the Sunart Centre are now available at local outlets, online at www.thebooth.co.uk or from the box office 01397 709228.
