High Life winners receive their prizes

Daniel Cormack of Invergordon recently received a year’s free membership to The Highland Council’s High Life leisure scheme as first prize for cycling the fastest mile on an exercise bike at the Council’s Black Isle Show stand this year.

Daniel cycled a mile in 2.25 minutes ahead of Charlie Mitchell also from Invergordon who came second place with his time of 2.27 minutes. Charlie received one free month of free High Life membership as his prize.

Presenting prizes to the winners of the High Life Fastest Mile Cycle Challenge, Highland Councillor Isobel McCallum for the Black Isle Ward and past President of the Black isle Farmers Society said: “The Council’s marquee was an excellent platform to engage with the public on a wide range of essential services.  I was amazed at how competitive the cycle challenge was with 109 entries and many people returning this year to better their time on last year’s efforts.  Joining High Life is an excellent way of improving your health and meeting people. Congratulations to the winners and runners up in this challenge and everyone who took part.”

In the under 16 category Aiden Mackenzie from Culbokie came first in 2.47 minutes and received a £60 gift voucher and John Fraser of Munlochy came second in 2.56 minutes receiving a £40 gift voucher (both donated by Square Wheels, Strathpeffer).
