Tenants turn out for Kyle information day

The Tenants Information Day, held recently in Kyle of Lochalsh, was a great success with over 30 Highland Council and LSHA tenants popping in throughout the day to get information n a range of topics such as cutting the cost of energy, benefits entitlements, tackling dog fouling, reducing waste and recycling and saving with the credit union.

The Community Fire Safety officer was on hand to offer free home visits and Tenants learned about how to get involved and influence decisions on how their housing services are delivered.

The free prize draw for grocery shopping vouchers was won by Highland Council Tenant Barry Butler from Kyle.

The Highland Council’s Tenant Participation Officer, Mandy MacLeman, said:  “The atmosphere was friendly and informal and thoroughly enjoyed by all.  We hope our next event in Portree is just as well attended. Anyone interested can just pop in any time from 2.30pm onwards.  Teas and coffees will be served and there will be a Kiddies Corner for the under 5’s.  We will also be running another free prize draw where another £30 shopping voucher will go to one lucky winner.”

The next Tenant Information Day will be held in Tigh na Sgire, Portree on Wednesday 6th April from 2pm – 8.30pm.
