Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Thursday 31 January 2013 are as follows:

Nairn
Icy conditions on high ground early morning. Gritted priority 1 and 2 routes; stopped when rain started around 07:30. Posted: 31/01/2013 10:15

South Sutherland and East Ross 
Road surface temperatures low with icy patches reported in most areas. Most routes gritted in order of priority. No problems reported. Posted: 31/01/2013 08:56

Mid and West Ross
Raining with sleet/light snow showers on higher routes. Snow not affecting any routes so far. All routes checked in priority order. Posted: 31/01/2013 08:21

Badenoch and Strathspey
A938 wet, A939 Dava patches of snow and ice, A939 Bridge of Brown 1-2 cm of snow at the highest level north end of area showing few signs of ice (very localised) gritting where needed. No action south area. Posted: 31/01/2013 08:19

Caithness and North sutherland
Most routes affected by frost and icy patches this morning, mainly in Caithness and North Sutherland, all routes patrolled and treated as necessary. No known problems. Posted: 31/01/2013 08:17

Skye and Lochalsh
Sleet on higher routes, no problems reported. Posted: 31/01/2013 07:10

Lochaber and Inverness – no problems reported.
